Here at Bendalls we are passionate about developing young talent, and this week we were delighted to welcome Josh Stirling for his Dream Placement week.
Josh is pictured below (front, second from the left) with our current Apprentices and has given the following statement:
‘I started studying A-Level Maths, Physics and Design Technology in September last year. It has shown me how Maths and Physics are used in Design Technology and made me realise that I want to pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering.
I’ve spent time with the Engineering, Commercial and Shop Floor areas of Bendalls. I’ve attended Proposal Meetings and I’ve spent time with the Procurement team too, which showed me just how much work goes into providing a quotation for work as well as the importance of client and supplier relationships, which you don’t see from the outside. I’m really impressed with the workshops and machinery, and I’ve found it very interesting to see the connection between the Engineering, Commercial and Shop Floor processes and how they come together to produce a finished product.
The week has given me a clearer understanding of what direction I can take after my A-Levels, and the importance of industry experiences alongside education.’
Bendalls are running an Apprentice Open Evening on Friday 25th February between 3:30pm and 6:30pm, where we hope to meet our potential Apprentices for 2022. Please come along for a look around our exiting modern facility and for more information on the apprenticeships available!
