The Cumbria Manufacturing Alliance are delighted to have completed the 1st Hybrid 2 63 Can Rack for our client Sellafield Ltd, providing them with space-saving underwater racks that will store spent nuclear fuel in its existing storage pond without having to build new facilities, which could help save millions in future decommissioning costs.
Alongside CMA partner West Cumberland Engineering, we welcomed them into our workshops in November 2022 to celebrate this milestone achievement and to present completed Rack X100 to them.
The successful, on time, high quality fabrication of Rack X100, alongside the continuous manufacturing progress of the remaining 79 Racks, only further proves the capability and strength of the CMA collaboration.
