On Saturday 19th July, a team of employees from Bendalls Engineering took on the full Ullswater Way Walk – a challenging 20-mile circular route around one of the Lake District’s most iconic landscapes – to raise funds for The Lighthouse, Carlisle Eden Mind, a local charity providing out-of-hours mental health crisis support.
Starting and finishing in Glenridding, the team covered the entire route in just over seven and a half hours, navigating everything from woodland trails and lakeside paths to steep climbs and – in true Lake District fashion – a downpour of rain in the early afternoon!
Despite the conditions, spirits remained high and everyone completed the walk, finishing with some very tired legs.
This was more than just a physical challenge; it was a meaningful opportunity to come together outside of work, support a cause that matters, and showcase the values we hold as a team – resilience, teamwork, and community impact.
