We’ve just wrapped up a great Dream Placement week with Catriona from WILLIAM HOWARD SCHOOL Sixth Form.

During her time with us, she:
⚙️ Supported the design of a social value initiative for Lakeland Life Events
⚙️ Designed a phone holder using Autodesk Inventor and 3D CAD
⚙️ Created detailed butterfly designs in Inventor – no easy task in a programme that naturally favours straight-line geometry

With support from our Skills Academy tutors, Catriona then went into the workshop to manufacture both the phone holder and the butterflies herself, bringing her designs to life.

She approached every task with maturity, focus and a real willingness to learn. A big thank you to our Design Engineering and Skills Academy teams for supporting her throughout the week.

Reflecting on her placement, Catriona said: “It was a really good week, everyone is so kind and I’ve learned a lot! It has even got me thinking about Degree Apprenticeships in the future, when I’ve always previously leaned towards University.”

A brilliant week! 👏
