Over the past two weeks, we’ve hosted 2 work experience placements for three Year 10 students — two from Richard Rose Morton Academy and one from Caldew School.

They got a full introduction to life at Bendalls, starting with inductions and tours before working on a design project to create a mobile phone holder using CAD and Inventor. They spent time in the workshops learning about machining, welding and fabrication, and then got hands-on in our Skills Academy, assisting laser cutting and bending their designs into shape.

The week wrapped up with polishing, finishing, and a short presentation on what they’d learned. A great opportunity to give students a real taste of engineering in action!

Thanks to our team members for supporting them, in particular Ashley Todd (pictured left) and Edward Kelso.
