On Friday, Weld Coordinator Rachel Cunningham (EngTech) spent some time volunteering on behalf of Centre for Leadership Performance Cumbria at Broughton Moor Primary School in Maryport. She took part in a Drawing my Dreams session with Key Stage 1 students, talking about the Engineering sector.
Rachel said:
“The Skills Blox session was an enjoyable afternoon, teaching young students about engineering opportunities that we have available in the local area and helping to break down the common stereotypical roles that can be daunting when choosing what career to go in to. It was interesting to see how much of an influence this had on the kids, and what they might potentially want to do when they leave education.”
