Monday 17th July marked the end of Year 1 for the first group of apprentices at our training centre, Carr’s Engineering Skills Academy in association with Lakes College. It’s been a great year, with a high number of Distinction grades awarded for completed units so far, we are extremely pleased with their performance, and there have been zero accidents! It’s truly impressive to see the improvement in the quality of work being produced by students since opening last year. We couldn’t be happier with the progress of the centre and the way it’s shaping up for the future.

To celebrate, welding tutor, Jim Hunter treated them to a fun outing of bowling, followed by a meal on us. Brendon (Mitchell Dryers Ltd) achieved the highest score of 116, closely followed by Margaret (Bendalls Engineering) with 110, a lot of balls ended up in the gutter, but everyone had a great time!

We wish them all the best of luck as they embark on their professional journey and begin learning on the job.
